Does Susie Sell Seashells by the Seashore?

Ever since I purchased my new camera, I've spent most of my waking hours daydreaming about places I'd like to go take pictures. Last Friday, I suddenly had an idea. I  turned to CDG and said, “Do you want to go watch the sunset and take photos at Chapin Beach after work?” Her eyes lit up with a giant, "Yes!" We checked the weather, the time of the sunset, and the tides. The stars were aligned.

Antinouns

Whether I like it or not (to be clear, I don't) most of the forms we need to fill out in this world require us to declare whether we're male or female. For most of the population, this is a thoughtless, one-second exercise. Some of us, though, spend minutes-that-feel-like-days agonizing over that section, trying to figure out how best to respond and what impact our decision may have.

Silly Ol' Wit

There are a few movies I could act out, word for word, from beginning to end. Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Grease, The Sound of Music, and Elf come to mind. I wish my grandmother could come play even just one hand of rummy and talk about her day. I wish Karen Carpenter could come sing "Goodbye to Love" and/or the entire Carpenters Christmas Portrait album with me, depending on how much time she had.

Short Story: Bookflix

Netflix become a public company in 2002 and Chantelle and I signed up for a subscription that year or shortly after. Prior to Netflix, we'd spend hours at the Blockbuster Video store up the street from our house and, 9 times out of 10, we'd leave the store empty handed.

Make Good Choices

Trying to set intentions for 2017 was more challenging for me than it has been over the last couple of years. The list I was making was growing into a giant laundry list of things I'd like to do better and it started to feel like I was just picking on myself, which isn't exactly how you want to kick off a new year.
